BlackHawk has come through again.  At the request of our law enforcement customers, BlackHawk has finally released their new BlackHawk Molded Light Bearing Duty Holster.  The holster works with the most popular tactical weapon's lights including TLR's, X300, X400 and much more.

BlackHawk has a reliable track record with holster preformance and their new Epoch holster contiues with that tradition.  It provides three levels of weapon retention for the highest level of security and qualifies for a level 3 duty holster.  It is a popular choice among civilans, military and law enforcement.  Their patent-pending retention system engages the pistol’s ejection port when holstered and won’t let go until you release it. As an added safety measure, the Pivot Guard opens by thumb activation and is designed so it won’t close accidentally, locking you out of the holster. This unique design accommodates most under-barrel lights on the market today, giving you all the versatility you’ve come to expect from BlackHawk.

Reinforcing learned skills by focusing on proper grip is a signature of BlackHawk holster design. The placement of the Epoch Auto Lock release and outboard index finger indent reinforce a full master grip by allowing the shooter to draw the firearm with the index finger and thumb in proper alignment.

This is one amazing holster! I had always wanted Blackhawk to make this and now its a reality that I can own and wear! Awesome retention level and is damn good for duty use!
... using mine now for about 3 weeks and I love this holster

I've been using mine now for about 3 weeks and I love this holster. I'm so glad Blackhawk finally came out with a level 3 that accommodates other WMLs. I ran the level 3 Serpa with Xiphos for a couple of years. Serpa holster is great but the Xiphos was lacking. I will admit that the retention is a little tricky at first but I work on my draw(and reloads) everyday. As an LEO my life depends on me being able to access my weapon therefore I train with my equipment regularly and more so when I purchase new gear. I really love this holster, it's design, and compatibility with several lights.
Kinda disappointed.

I swear by Blackhawk level 2 holsters for duty! I always told myself that I would never get a level 3 because of all the buttons you have to defeat before your are able to actually draw your weapon. So when Blackhawk came out with this level 3 with only one thumb release button, I was stoked!! Plus I could use my Streamlight TLR-1 on my Glock 19 and 22. Upon getting it (after 16 days!!!) I rigged up Glock 19 and realized that it doesn't retain very well with such a small frame, even with the spacers provided. There was a lot of play in the holster. And since maybe because I have small thumbs, It would get stuck in mid draw after the hood would flop forward. It worked a little better with the full framed Glock 22 but still feels like a very very unnatural draw. I'm selling it to a buddy of mine. I'm gonna stick with what I know and use the awesome level 2's. Blackhawk still ROCKS, but this holster simply wasn't for me.
